Santa Monica absorbs enormous through-traffic for its size, and how we move shapes everything from business viability to street safety. The Expo/E Line, Big Blue Bus, bike infrastructure, and parking policy all interact — changing one moves the others.
Where I stand
I want decisions made with actual traffic and usage data rather than assumptions, and I want changes measured after they're made. Streets should work for the people who live here every day, including the ones who need to drive.
What I'd focus on
- Data-driven evaluation of street changes, before and after
- Safe, direct routes for pedestrians and cyclists on major corridors
- Parking policy that supports small businesses and residents
- Better connections between transit, SMC, and job centers
