We live on the coast. Water quality, urban heat, drought, energy resilience, and food supply aren't abstract policy categories here — they show up in the ocean people swim in and the trees on the street they live on.
Where I stand
I'm interested in sustainability that produces something visible: more shade, cleaner water, food grown closer to where it's eaten, less waste in city operations. Practical, measurable, and worth funding on its own terms.
What I'd focus on
- Protect beach and ocean water quality through runoff and stormwater work
- Expand tree canopy and shade along hot corridors
- Explore local food production in underused space
- Water and energy efficiency in city facilities first
