Santa Monica Pier
The Pier is Santa Monica's front door to the world. It carries an enormous share of the city's tourism identity, hosts events, supports small operators and vendors, and sits directly on top of a marine environment we're responsible for. It's also a place where safety, maintenance, and crowd management are constant, year-round work.

My perspective
The Pier should be a place residents actually go, not just a postcard. That means visible safety presence, honest maintenance funding, and programming built for locals in the off-season. I'd also like the money the Pier generates to be traceable to what it maintains.
